I (Almost) Got Abducted by Aliens

Hey Friend,

A few weeks ago, I was on a late-night walk.

It was 9:47 pm and not a soul lined the streets.

Windows that were usually open, had their curtains drawn and only darkness came from them. The summer air was still warm and the trees blew in the breeze.

I casually strolled around my neighborhood, like I always do. But there was an eerie feeling that night. The sky was darker than usual and there wasn’t a cloud in sight.

I brushed it off.

The stars lined the sky and I admired them as I walked. I found the big dipper, then the little dipper.

Finally, my eyes gazed upon my favorite constellation: Orion Belt. Three stars in a row. So simple, yet so beautiful.

But there was something different…

It wasn’t just three stars.

I started to count. Three... Seven... Nine… Thirteen…

I shook my head in confusion. I thought I was going crazy.

I looked back up again, but the stars didn’t change. There were even more now and they stood out among the others.

It was like nothing I had ever seen before. Then it hit me.

Aliens.

I was about to get abducted.

The hair on the back of my neck stood up. My heart rate doubled in pace, as I started to walk faster.

My mind flashed to images of me getting probed and tested on. I would never be seen again.

Unless…

I broke into a dead sprint down the road.

These aliens were not going to catch me if I could do anything about it. The wind whipped through the trees. The leaves crackled under my feet. My head shot around, trying to spot anything behind me.

I saw nothing.

But I could feel them closing in.

I turned into my culdesac and barged through my front door. I was safe.

For now.

I called my girlfriend and told her what happened. She laughed as she Googled what I had told her. And she sent me this pic:

It wasn’t aliens.

It was Elon Musk’s newest invention: Star Link.

I had no idea about it.

Dammit, Elon.

Anyway…

I felt so stupid after this. I was so scared for no reason (and trust me, I was actually terrified).

But life is often like that.

We look into the unknown and aren’t sure what the future holds. So, we visualize the worst situation imaginable. This leads to fear, doubt, and uncertainty.

It’s only when we get through these false beliefs, that we can look back and realize that we made it into much more than it really was.

Stop letting your mind play tricks on you.
