Hey friends,
As kids, we were curious.
We did random shit and figured it out along the way.
What we were really doing was running personal experiments to learn about the world.
Letās bring back some of that childhood curiosity.
š§āš¬ Youāre a Scientist (or at least, can be)
People have made amazing discoveries that didnāt have modern-day PhDs. Yet in our age, we think we need the schooling of a scientist to act as one.
A great example is, Benjamin Franklin. He constantly ran experiments to understand the world around him. He caught lightning with a key and a kite while lacking modern schooling!
The problem is that we donāt view new tasks as āexperimental.ā Weāre scared to try new things. We lack curiosity.
Labeling yourself as a āscientistā is a step in changing your identity. You become someone who views the world in a new way. If you think of yourself as a scientist, you can become one.
šŖ Self-Observation (Behavioral Scientist)
Self-observation is the first step to becoming a scientist.
If you are unhappy with your life or want to improve it, watch what you do all day.
- How do you act?
- What do you say?
- What do you think?
Observe issues in your life. Once you identify them, you can start running experiments!
š¦§ Curiosity (Experimental Scientist)
A scientist isnāt afraid to fail an experiment. They see it as data that helps them draw a conclusion about a topic.
Be open to trying new things. If it's something you enjoy, then keep it in your life. If not, get rid of it.
