6 months ago, I got a personal seminar from a millionaire.
His teachings blew my mind.
I put his ideas into action and made more progress in 6 months than I had in the last 2 years (in business and life).
Let me explain.
Most people never make the progress they hope for.
When they create their New Year's goals, they’re often not satisfied with their accomplishments of the previous year. They look back and regret the time they wasted.
They sadly realized that their focus was weak and they filled their days with busy work — instead of meaningful work.
So they repeat the same goals they had the previous year. Hoping something will change.
The sad part? Most people live their whole lives this way. They have grand goals, but can’t ever seem to live up to them.
I know, because I used to be this person. Every year, I’d have the same goals. Every year… nothing changed. The vision for my life turned into an unattainable dream, not a full proof plan to accomplish what I wanted to.
I felt stuck with no way out.
Here was the million-dollar solution.
Escaping Meaninglessness
"The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision." — Helen Keller
“What the hell is a quarterly rock?” I asked myself during the seminar.
Little did I know, it was an idea that would change my life.
The speaker went on to tell me that he was in the same place as me a few years before. Unsure of how to grow his business and still live a meaningful life.
Here are the highlights from our conversation.
First, most people don’t understand the power of a vivid vision. They think it’s nothing more than corporate mumbo jumbo.
But that’s the big problem.
Most people never decide what they’re life will look like — where they’ll live, who they want to be surrounded by, and what they want to accomplish.
The same goes for their business. They don’t decide on how much revenue they want to bring in, how big they want to grow their team or how they’ll help their customers be successful.
When you create a vision (even a bad one) the path forward becomes clear. You know exactly what to work on and what results you expect. If your plan fails, you take a new route.
Second, the use of quarterly rocks.
What is a rock? It’s the main goal of your business for the next 90 days. The top 3-4 main priorities.
Pick projects that move you towards materializing your overall vision.
Things like… launching a new product, increasing leads, or upgrading your current offer. The options are endless — that’s why rocks are so important.
When you and your team focus on completing only a few major tasks, the results are incredible.
Don’t get stuck only working IN your business. Make sure you’re working ON it.
Your freedom depends on it.
Here’s exactly how to do it.
Materializing Your Vision
When it is obvious goals cannot be reached, don’t adjust the goals, adjust the action steps. — Confucius
1) Create your Vision (Business or Personal)
Decide what your life will look like in the next 10 years. How do you want to feel? What will you have accomplished? Who will you be? Write it down for best results.
The answers don’t have to be permanent, but you should get a good idea. If you don’t decide what you want your life to look like, someone else will do it for you.
Next, do this.
2) Break it Down (Make it Attainable)
A vision is the first step, but we can’t stop there. We need to hone it and make sure it becomes reality. Ten years feels like a long time, but it comes quicker than you think. Make sure you’re going in the right direction.
Break down your 10-year goal into 5, 3, and 1-year goals. What do you need to do during each of those periods to achieve your vision?
Don’t skip this step.
3) Focus Framing (Quarterly Rocks)
This is where it gets good.
Understanding your vision and your one-year goal makes progress easy. Decide on the most important ideas you need to implement in the next three months.
These are your “quarterly rocks.” Setting powerful quarterly rocks will change the way you live and work. Pick 3-4 major things you want to accomplish during this time frame. Make these your main focus every day until you’ve completed them.
Nothing will benefit you more.
Good luck in 2025,
