The Starting Point of All Achievement

Curiosity

Hey friend,

Around this time last year, a new video game came out.

Your character wakes up in a mystical place between life and death.

A tarnished soul stripped of the graces of the Gods.

It’s your purpose to reunite the Lands Between and become Elden Lord.

Your journey begins now…

I was enthralled with this game.

Putting in over 120 hours in one month.

I would play through the night only to wake up and begin playing again.

I couldn't think of anything else. I stopped going to work and just played.

Complete obsession.

I had to become Elden Lord and wouldn’t stop until I was.

I desired it and I was going to get it.

(I even hurt my back from playing so long - sitting on the couch for hours at a time lol).

I have done this a few times in my life. Dropping everything to pursue one task.

A few times this was with video games. They are designed to lure you in and keep you playing. They have a story that cannot be recreated in real life.

Or can they…?

Napoleon Hill, the author of one of the greatest works of all time, said:

“Desire is the starting point to all achievement”

But most people never determine what they truly desire.

They go about their lives and never commit to something they truly want to achieve.

Something that drives them endlessly.

That keeps them up at night because they are so excited about it.

Time slips away from them.

And they regret it at the end of their life.

This will not be me.

And I hope it’s not you.

So…how do we come to find what we truly desire?

Ask yourself:

“If I could only achieve one thing in my life… what would it be?”

If you need inspiration, look at what you loved to do as a kid.

For me - this was: writing & entrepreneurial ventures.

Three things now fill my day.

  1. Becoming the best writer I can be
  2. Working to build my company
  3. Innovating at my current company

I’m obsessed.

Finding my path took me a while, but I’m more excited than ever to see where it leads me.

If you are unsure about your journey or just want more in your life - take a moment to write down what you desire. This could be anything. Wealth, health, relationships, etc.

You have no time to waste.
