The #1 Reason Why You Won’t Achieve Greatness In Your Lifetime

Business

Hey Friend,

In 2022, 37% of Americans said that their favorite sport to watch was football.

It may not be my favorite sport to watch, but it’s my favorite sport to play.

So much so, that I took an opportunity to play in college.

18-year-old Rocky had no idea what he was getting himself into…

I was excited to join the team, but one thought always sat in the back of my mind:

“Am I really good enough to play college football?”

During fall training camp, I started to make friends on the team and loved the college campus.

I came out strong and started to get noticed by the coaches. I won some battles and lost some too.

Over time, I was able to compete with the other players on the field.

I became as strong as some, fast as some, and technically skilled as others.

Everything started to fall into place.

Or so I thought…

I joined the team as a “walk-on.” This is a player who doesn’t have a scholarship but is still on the team.

Most walk on’s are nowhere close to the skill level of the scholarship players. Their main goal is to get good enough to earn a scholarship or to play for the love of the game.

I was there to earn a scholarship.

I knew coming in that this would be an uphill battle. But I was ready for it… at first.

Months went by and I kept making progress, but I was still last on the depth charts.

I got discouraged and started to identify as a “walk-on,” instead of a player on the team.

I put myself into a category that I couldn’t get out of. Once I did this, there was no way that I could achieve my goal.

Maybe I only had a 1% chance to have ever earned a scholarship - maybe even 0.1%.

But, once I started thinking like this, there was a clear-cut 0% chance.

This is what is known as a limiting belief.

Not thinking you’re good enough to achieve a goal.

I’m sure you've struggled with this at least once in the past…

You’ve discounted yourself, in one way or another.

You start to believe you aren’t capable of achieving success in something that’s important to you.

That mindset will hold you down until you are ready to change it.

This can be anything:

  • “I will never be the best salesman in my company”
  • “I can’t start my own business, I have never started one before”
  • “I can only make this much money”

Expand your beliefs on what you think you’re capable of. Start doing this and see where your life will take you.
