Writing a Book is Tougher Than I Expected

Hey Friend!

I'll be releasing my E-book on September 1st!

Last week I thought I was going to release a full draft of the book…

The thing is, writing a book is a lot more time-consuming than I originally planned.

Even my rough draft isn’t ready for human consumption.

(I don’t want to bore y’all with unedited work and random notes lol)

Trying to share all of the knowledge that I’ve learned in the last 10 years of exercise and resistance training is tough.

I know it all very well, but sharing it in a way that’s easy to read and understand is a different story.

So I’m just going to give you some updates on how it has been going!

My hope for this project is to make it much more than just an e-book. It’s going to include some tools that I’ve built that you can use on your fitness journey. I also want to include the ability for a few of my readers to meet with me to build their own workout program.

I've completed the outline for the book, which includes everything I want to talk about.

Here's my tentative table of contents!

🔮 The Circle of Curiosity

I’ll also be starting a new section of my newsletter! The name might change in the future, but for now, I’m going to call it “The Circle of Curiosity.” This will include 2-3 interesting pieces of media that I came across during the week. If anything catches your eye, check it out! My main goal here is to provide you with new perspectives and ideas (without having to do a deep dive into them).

🔊 Audiobook:

Caffeine: How Caffeine Created the Modern World” by Michael Pollan

Pollan touches on the history of coffee and its claim as arguably the smartest plant of all time. He includes the science behind caffeine and how it impacts our daily life. After talking to the worlds leading researchers on sleep, he reveals that none of them drink coffee… (This book is free with an audible subscription).

📚 Book:

Influence: Science and Practice” by Robert Cialdini

Cialdini talks about the psychology behind persuasion. He has studied the topic for years and has even gone undercover in sales organizations to learn their secrets. This has been one of the most impactful books in my sales career.

🎧 Podcast:

The Duolingo Spanish Podcast

In an effort to learn Spanish before traveling to Mexico next week, I started listening to this podcast. I can proudly say that I’m much more confident in understanding the language, but speaking it is still a challenge for me...

Thanks for bearing with me as I write my first book!

Hope you have a great week,
